National Museum of Ireland
Ireland’s leading museum institution
What is now the National Museum of Ireland resulted from the combination of several cultural institutions from the 18th and 19th centuries. Many of the artifacts acquired at this time came from collections purchased from various private collectors. As the collection grew, the museum was divided between four locations with varying themes.
