Grafton Street & Disney Store
Dublin’s premiere shopping street, just a 3 minute walk from Drury Court
Dublin’s premier shopping street is just 3 minutes on foot from our front door: Grafton Street features both boutique shops and internationally recognised brands.
Brown Thomas is one of the highlights- Ireland’s flagship department store, housing all high-end designer brands for clothing, shoes, jewellery, accessories, make-up and homeware and offering personal shopper services. Their Christmas windows are famous for their impressive displays – attracting visitors from all over the country, and even further afield, each year.
Bewley’s Café is a must for refreshments after a busy day of shopping: located midway down Grafton Street, the café was completely refurbished in 2017- highlighting its historical features and adding a beautiful stained-glass window by the famous Irish artist Harry Clarke on the ground floor.
Tours of the refurbished café (of course including a cup of tea and their famous iced buns) are provided by Pat Liddy tours.
The Disney Store is particularly popular with our younger guests: first opened in 2011, this was Ireland’s first Disney store and is spread over two floors.
It is an interactive store with friendly staff, happy to advise on that perfect gift or treat for young and adult visitors alike. Disney’s Grafton Street store stocks a huge range of merchandise and toys that are exclusive to the Disney Store, as well having Dublin themed Disney merchandise.
There is a theatre area that allows kids to select different clips to watch on a big screen, as well as regular in-store events.
Even if shopping is not your chosen activity, we would recommend taking in the atmosphere of Grafton Street- there is plenty to indulge the senses: say hello to Thin Lizzy’s Phil Lynott, immortalised with a statue just off the main street; enjoy the riots of colour provided by the Flower Sellers (most of whom are the descendants of the original sellers from the early 1900s) and all of this with a soundtrack provided by the many buskers and street performers. If you are lucky enough to find yourself in Dublin on Christmas Eve, U2’s Bono and Glen Hansard are famous for their impromptu Grafton Street performances!
