Pearse Lyons
Family-run distillery in a restored church setting
Walking past Pearse Lyons distillery, located in Dublin’s Liberties area, you would be forgiven for thinking this was a church. However, the building was actually repurposed as a whiskey distillery- whilst retaining some of the most impressive features from its former incarnation as a religious building.
The stained glass window that frames the copper pot whiskey still is perhaps the most iconic – and popular with Instagrammers! – of these original features: this in itself is enough of a reason for us to recommend the distillery to our guests. However, the whiskey is also a smooth blend, building on the success of its sister distillery in the USA, that produces the Town Branch Bourbon at the heart of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
As a family run business ourselves at the Drury Court Hotel, we absolutely appreciate the family-oriented nature of the Pearse Lyons distillery, as every tour they offer feels both personal and relatable.
