Vicar Street
Quirky events and concert venue in the Liberties
Vicar Street is a concert and events venue, and a cultural arts centre located on Thomas Street just 15 minutes from the Drury Court Hotel by foot or public transport, or less than 10 minutes by car. First opened in 1998 it has gone on to become one of Ireland’s most popular venues.
With a capacity for 1,050 people for seated performances and 1,500 people for standing gigs it is known internationally as the go-to Irish venue for intimate shows. Some of its previous performers include Adele, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Paul Simon, and Ed Sheeran. As well as concerts, Vicar Street is a very popular venue for comedy shows, playing host to home-grown and internationally renowned comic talents. In fact, its longest running show is Tommy Tiernan’s Loose Show, which ran for an incredible and to this day unrivalled 166 performances.
Vicar Street has won Irish Music Venue of the Year five times since 2008.
